Kapopoulos Fine Arts Gallery in Elounda Mare in Crete, is pleased to present SPAP Photography’s (Spyros Papadatos) new solo photography exhibition. Opening in presence of the artist on July 28th.

Over his career, the photographer with the great talent, has depicted the female form with unprecedented vigor. Always true and constantly surrendered to the idea behind the bleak snapshot that the artist chooses to trap in time.

The female figure has always been a source of fascination and inspiration to artists. For Spyros Papadatos, the approach to the female form is natural and innocent, while simultaneously it is a challenge of breaking out of taboos and stereotypes.When he turnshis camera to women, the artist embraces the female body as a vital medium for storytelling, expressing identity and reflecting individual and collective experience.

Among the pieces of the exhibit there will be the nude: “Based Woman” which has received a distinction at the 10th International Salon-circuit of Art Photography "With Love to Women" - 2015.

“A Woman to Love II”SPAP Photography Exhibition was first presented at the Cultural Center Benetatou of one of the most prestigious municipalities of Athens – Psichiko-Filothei. Then following its success in Athens, it started a tour by travelling to Crete in March 2017 the biggest Island of Greece and was presented in the Municipal Art Gallery of Herakleion. Moreover, it has recently been presented in Barcelona-Catalonia in Spain.

SPAP Photography (photographer Spyros Papadatos) will present with his artistic view the Female Beauty with Portraits and Nudes through his selected pictures that represent the harmony of female body and the artistic side of its creator.

Among the pieces of the exhibit there will be the internationally awarded portrait: “Maria Woman”: HM FIAP Awarded Author (Honourable Mention from Federation Internationale De L'Art Photographique) –Stylist, Make Up Artist: Zoi Efthimopoulou & Model: Maria Meleouni and the nude: “Based Woman” -Selected Author. Both got distinction at the 10th International Salon-circuit of Art Photography "With Love to Women" - 2015.

“A Woman to Love II” - SPAP Photography Exhibition started from Athens in May 2016 in the Cultural Center Benetatou of one of the most prestigious municipalities of Athens – Psichiko-Filothei was SPAP Phοtography 4th personal photo exhibit. It took 2 monthly extensions due to its success and ended end of July 2016 with thousands of visitors.

Then following its beginning in Athens the “A Woman to Love II” exhibit started a tour by travelling to Crete in March 2017 the biggest Island of Greece and was presented in the Municipal Art Gallery of Herakleion – the Cathedral Church of St. Mark of the Venetians, a historic building which is the heart of the cultural events of Heraklion. The Cathedral Church of St. Mark of the Venetians was built in 1239 and gained its current status in 1956.

Next destination for the “A Woman to Love II” SPAP Photography exhibit -6th personal photo exhibit- will be in Barcelona-Catalonia in Spain at the important cultural center Ateneu Sagrerenc Espai 30 from 13th to 26th of May 2017, the 1st international presentation of the works of “A Woman to Love II” in one of the Top Cultural Cities of Europe.

In parallel and for the ones that will not be able to be in Barcelona a preview (Vernissage) will take place few days before Barcelona at Cascara –Melissia in Athens. In the exhibit SPAP Photography “A Woman to Love II”-Barcelona and also in the preview in Athens few new works will be added amongst them “Maria woman 2” that got international distinctions as Selected Author in art photography circuits: “NEW Bi - Continental Photo Circuit 2016" and also at the top “26th TRIERENBERG SUPER CIRCUIT 2017”.

SPAP Photography impressions from the Manolis Metzakis exhibition based on the movie “El Greco”

SPAP Photography was really excited to visit the exhibit “El Greco” of Mr. Manolis Metzakis, a new look at the world wide well known “El Greco” movie of Giannis Smaragdis coupled with a lot of the drawings that were made for the movie shootings. Mr Metzakis magnificent work is a true inspiration for those that want to see how the photographer eyes look at a movie differently than the movie director and photography director of the movie. For us it was as if we saw the movie again from a different most impressive scope – an amazing experience for which we thank Mr Metzakis once more for the journeys he is offering to us.

Exhibit opening: Wednesday 15th March 2017, at 19.30

Following the successful first presentation of SPAP Photography “A Woman to Love II” at the Cultural Center Benetatos of the Municipality of Filothei-Psychiko and after being extended for 2 months, the exhibit travels to one of the most important cities of Greece and will be presented at a historical building the Cathedral Church of St. Mark of the Venetians the heart of the cultural events of Heraklion. The Cathedral Church of St. Mark of the Venetians was built in 1239 and gain its current status in 1956.

The exhibit starts from the 15th March 2017 and ends on the 24th of March 2017.

SPAP Photography impressions from the Tsoclis Exhibit held in Spinalonga Island

SPAP Photography was really impressed from the important artist Kosta Tsoclis exhibit in the atmospheric historical island of Spinalonga, which was visited by many lucky attendants of the exhibit called “ The last leper” accompanied with the music of Nikos Xydakis and will be held until the 31st of October 2012. Some relative pictures will soon be published.

SPAP Photography impressions from the Mapplethorpe Photography Exhibit held in Onasis Cultural Centre

SPAP Photography was really impressed from the famous photographer Mapplethorpe Exhibit, which was visited by many lucky attendants at Onasis Cultural Centre. The exhibits photographs were impressive and can be found online but what was even more impressive was the fact that the best documentaries about Mappplethorpe could be seen at separate special movie room. The most impressive element presented was the way that Mapplethorpe was working with his models. He used to develop long term close relationships based on trust and creation that lead gradually into great shoots!

SPAP Photography Distinction
at "Photographos" Top magazine

SPAP Photography 's picture got a distinction from Greek Top photography magazine "Photographos" that belongs to Kathimerini newspaper-SKAI TV Group. The picture called "Balanced woman" competed against 200 photographers and their themes and was among the Top 4 ones to get full page coverage from "Photographos" magazine.
